So do u use a circle hook if using bits of mackerel and squid ect

No mate I only use them for live baits or head hooked ragworm where I nick it once on the hook so it looks natural as I mainly bass on the drift.

I have used circle hooks for squid and live sandeel - both worked fine with no losses.

This summer i will be running circles and normal hooks on the hounds - I have had a lot of lost hounds the last couple of years, something I had not experienced previously so i am interested to see if the circles improve that.

forgot to say they are great for bream, tronix pro circles 1/0. always catches them in the scissors.

although i did nearly loose me rod with the tactic u suggested, dunno what it was but it was a decent fishy Smile

yer no problem mate,you have to be on them rods all the time when fishing for bass it will take a 10lb bass seconds to pull your rod to the salty deep lol..
