hi just brought an icelander 18 myself, currently fitting it out to get how i want it . im told they are good seaworthy boats. i trail mine so launch mostly from calshot , but some time langstone (out of jetski season) it,ll be good to hear how you get on with it , i wont be seeing the water for a couple of months due to other commitments, so hopefully the weather will be a little warmer.

Sparks is a good place to keep your boat but I think most if it's tidal. Your in a good area and there's some decent fishing straight out of Chichester entrance, the likes of the nab tower, utopia, bullocks Patch, nab bouys etc. you have selsey further east which can be super fishing For plaice, rays, bass and tope etc. you have a cracking boat, only ever heard good things about Icelanders . I keep my boat by the langstone entrance Portsmouth side in south sea sea angling club and fish inshore a fair bit. Your more than welcome to come out in mine to help find your feet, I live in Havant which is close to we're yours is and likewise If you want company and I'm not already out il join you on yours. There's plenty of marks to fish once you get abit of experience.

Good luck
Hugh

Welcome to the forum and to Hayling Island. I;m also on Hayling and also in Sparkes'.  Have you joined the Hayling Forum ... ? www.hayling.co.uk .... join up and look me up .... MadMackem. Lots of good info available on local boating and fishing and other stuff.

Don't underestimate problems / limitations of Sinah Lake.  Same tidal restrictions but closer to Eastern marks and no Langstone tidal run to deal with.

Happy to meet up and discuss over a pint some evening if you'd like .
