hi ray, got a set for crimbo and was just having a look thru the paperwork, are you pressing the power zero button and hold for 2 seconds some settings are for 6 secs and the other thing it says is in the battery compartment there is a tag which goes over the batts not under + showing outside on pic, and the other thing was  overloading are you sure those fish you been catching are not to big they only got up to 50lb lol hope it helps all the best billy.
if you have to measure it, its too small!!

does sound like the display then mate, unless a solder joint on the board maybe loose or corroded, could strip em for you and have a look at the connections and tracks  might see some thing, pop em in to the riser we could do it wilst sipping a beer  if you like no probs,

ray scales are scales m8, get some springy ones from argos for a fiver, does the same as any other fancy scales and you get a free tape measure to measure them with lol.

got to say tho i do prefer the digital ones. bring them to the riser like billy boy said, if he cant fix them then know one can.
