No fishing show this year. We are doing a cruise to the Island instead. If that is a disappointment, please email Southsea Marina!

Not sure, I'll find out off the record. Maybe they just wanted a change. Plus it cost money, and their PR lady is on maternity leave so it could be a combination of factors. It would interesting to know how many people are disappointed it is not on this year.

I always went it was a good morning out  to have a look around and normally find something to buy but to me the most important bit was taking my life jackets and getting them checked over by the RLNI stand and then putting a few pounds in their pot.

Yes shame about the show, I liked Johnsons cutting the fish, also the RNLI jacket test, and also last year I brought a tow ring from the car boot sale area, used it a couple of times- good fun, but even better for the kids going down Portsdown hill in the snow.....

Maybe SMAC should organise another Open fish comp in the summer with a stay-over if required, and a meal/barbie/beer. We had a good turnout for the cod comp but I think more boats would have come over from the Island if the weather had been more settled. Summer would be better for light and warmth too. Thoughts?
