Is anyone out this weekend?   Wind looks Ok with a 4.4M tide.

I guess the cod have now gone (?), is there anything else around?    Thought about heading out to the Overfalls for some rays but the tides probably just too strong.

Cod will still be there but maybe further up in the water chasing sprats. Yesterday, Sunday was looking the better day but now Saturday morning looks more promising. Hope it holds.

Thanks Ray and Neville.    Any different techniques for catching cod when they're feeding on spratts?

perhaps thats something we  could look at  ie  drifting  with  baited feathers  although  i still like to  put a  big  smelly  bait  on the  bot  for  that 30+ cod

My cunning plan is to catch some sprats, rig a few on a dropper rig and drift with them just off the bottom, maybe a couple of rods at different depths. So far I'm still working on catching the sprats so don't come to close if you see a line of floats in the water

Yeah weather looks good,1st it was saturday then sunday now monday but planning on going out sunday suppose to be nw 9mph,oops just checked and it's changed again grrrrrr, now it appears to be early am sunday thats good, and monday has completely changed now!!,just hope there is no fog as i fancy the spoils area but not in the fog!!,if it is foggy then i will prob stick to sandown/shanklin bay area, only problem is it's going to be a EARLY start, but worth it if you land a 30+ cod, might see if i can purchase a load of sprats and mince them up,place in onion sack etc and tie to anchor and see if that might help, worth a try i suppose lol
